Prof. Dr. Mustafa Yüksel was born in Ankara, 1953. He graduated from Ankara University Medical School in 1977.
He completed his specialization in cardio vascular surgery in Ankara Ataturk Pulmonary Diseases and Thoracic Surgery Department in 1983.
He was the vice Head of Heybeliada Pulmonary Diseases and Thoracic Surgery Department until 1990, in 1991 he was assigned Assistant Professor in Marmara University.
He practiced under Dr. Peter Goldstraw in London in Royal Brampton Hospital between 1991 and 1992. In 1994 he became an associate professor and a professor in 1999.
